PEPPER STEAK 
1 1/2 lbs. thinly sliced round steak
3 tbsp. soy sauce
1 tbsp. flour
1 c. water
1/2 c. ketchup
Black pepper
Sliced onions
Fresh mushrooms
1 whole green pepper
1/2 c. white vermouth
Rice

Brown steak in a little butter. Remove meat from pan. Add soy sauce and 1 heaping tablespoon flour. Mix thoroughly. Add 1 cup water and 1/2 cup ketchup and a little black pepper. Return meat to pan, top with onion slices, fresh mushrooms and green pepper, cut in thin slices. Cook about 1/2 hour. Add 1/2 cup white vermouth (or wine). Serve over rice.
