JESSIE'S EASY CHILI
I was just messing around while making chili and this was my creation. Hubby loved it! The bell pepper, ketchup and brown sugar make it a bit sweeter.

1 to 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
1/2 medium onion
1 red bell pepper
1 pkg. chili seasoning mix (McCormick's)
1 pkg. pre-cooked kidney beans
1 (28 oz.) can crushed tomatoes
1 (15 oz.) can diced tomatoes (I like the hot flavor to add some spice)
1/4 cup ketchup (Hunts)
1 tbsp. brown sugar (optional)

Dice up onion and red pepper and place in pan with ground beef. Brown meat. Drain grease and return to stove. Pour in chili mix according to package along with the beans and tomatoes. Let simmer on low for 10 to 20 minutes. Add in ketchup and brown sugar. Simmer to get everything mix together, and make sure bell pepper has cooked (nobody wants crunchy chili!)

Goes great with a sweeter cornbread like Jiffy. Leftovers pretty good on hotdogs too!
