GRAMMY LOU'S STRAWBERRY BREAD | |
1 c. butter 1 1/2 c. sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 tsp. lemon extract 4 eggs 1/2 c. sour cream 3 c. sifted flour 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. cream of tartar 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 c. strawberry jam Cream butter, sugar and extracts until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Sift dry ingredients. Combine jam and sour cream. Add jam mixture alternately with dry ingredients to creamed mixture. Mix well. Divide into 5 greased and floured 4 1/2 x 2 3/4 x 2 1/4 inch pans or 2 loaf pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Remove and cool on racks. |
