SKILLET COOKIES 
3/4 c. sugar
2 egg yolks (some recipes call for 3)
1 stick (1/4 lb.) butter
8 oz. pkg. chopped dates
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 c. Rice Krispies
1 c. chopped nuts (pecans)
Angel flake coconut to roll the cookies in (probably medium size can)

Melt butter slowly over low heat. Add dates, sugar and egg yolks; cook 10 minutes, stirring constantly. Mash dates until dissolved with spoon as you stir. Never use high heat. Remove from heat. Add Rice Krispies, pecans and vanilla. Mix thoroughly. The thorough mixing is very important. Roll into small balls then roll them individually in the coconut. Roll each ball in coconut as son as you make the ball.
