BANANA POUND CAKE 
1 1/2 c. shortening
2 1/2 c. sugar
4 eggs
6 bananas, mashed
2 tsp. baking soda
Pinch of salt
3 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Cream shortening and sugar in a bowl until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add bananas; mix well. Stir in dry ingredients and vanilla. Pour into greased and floured bundt pan. Bake at 300 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. Cool in pan for 10 minutes. Invert onto wire rack to cool completely.
