OVERNIGHT GREEN SALAD 
1 head lettuce
1 c. sliced water chestnuts
1 sm. pkg. frozen peas
1 c. mayonnaise (no substitute)
1 c. sour cream
1/2 c. chopped green onion
1 c. chopped celery
Other vegetables if desired
Parmesan cheese, grated

Layer torn lettuce, green onion, chestnuts, celery, peas, other ingredients in serving bowl. Mix mayonnaise and sour cream; spread on top sealing to edge. Top with Parmesan cheese, or 1 teaspoon of sugar, and bacon bits. Cover and allow to stand in refrigerator overnight. Stir or toss just before serving.
