CLARINDA'S DISH 
2 lb. ground chuck
1 lg. can tomatoes
2 diced onions
2 tbsp. bacon drippings
1 handful pickling spices
Sugar, salt, bay leaf, pepper
2 cans dark kidney beans

Brown the two diced onions in bacon drippings. Add meat, brown slightly; then add canned whole tomatoes (Hunt or Contadina), sugar, salt, pepper, bay leaf. Add a handful of pickling spices TIED IN A CHEESECLOTH BAG. Simmer 1 hour. Add 2 cans of dark kidney beans and simmer another hour.

Serve with tortilla chips, shoestring potatoes; salad of assorted greens. Choice of drink optional.
