BROWN SUGAR NUT BARS 
1 1/3 stick butter
1 lb. light brown sugar
3 eggs
2 3/4 c. plain flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
1 c. nuts, chopped

Melt butter in large sauce pan. Stir in brown sugar and allow to cool slightly. Beat in eggs one at a time. Sift flour, baking powder and salt; add to mixture, stirring well. Add chocolate chips, vanilla and nuts. Spread mixture into greased 9 x 12 inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. Cool and cut into squares. Butterscotch chips may be substituted for chocolate chips.
