1 1/4 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. shortening
2 eggs
2 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped pecans
1 c. chopped dates
1/3 c. maraschino cherries
2 1/2 c. crushed corn flakes
15 maraschino cherries, cut in fourths

Sift flour with baking powder, soda and salt. Gradually add sugar to shortening. Cream until light and fluffy. Blend in eggs, milk and vanilla; beat well. Add sifted dry ingredients; mix thoroughly. Stir in pecans, dates and cherries. Chill for easier handling. Drop by rounded teaspoon into corn flakes to coat. Form into balls, place on greased cookie sheets. Top each with 1/4 cherry. Bake at 375 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.
