1 c. lard 2 egg yolks 1 c. sugar 1/2 c. milk 1 tsp. anise flavoring 2 tbsp. anise seed 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder 4-6 c. flour Heat oven to 400 degrees. Cream lard, egg yolks, and sugar. Add milk, anise flavoring and seeds. Sift baking powder in with first 2 cups flour. Mix well. Continue adding flour until you have a soft pliable dough. Roll out dough to 1/8 inch thickness and cut with cookie cutters. Dip top side of cookie in cinnamon-sugar mixture. Bake 12-15 minutes on ungreased baking sheet until a light brown. |
