PEPPERMINT PIE | |
Chocolate wafer pie crust 1/4 c. cold water 1 pkg. unflavored gelatin 3 egg whites 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 c. peppermint candy cane, crushed 1/4 c. chopped nuts 1 c. heavy cream Put cold water and gelatin into a cup. Set cup in a pan of hot water for a few minutes. Meanwhile beat egg whites and gradually add sugar. Continue beating until soft peaks form. Gently fold in the gelatin mixture. Fold in candy and nuts. Whip the heavy cream and fold into filling. Pour into pie shell and refrigerate overnight. To serve, garnish with whipped cream and shaved chocolate. |
