TEXAS PECAN PIE 
1 c. pecans, halved or chopped
3 eggs
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. light or dark corn syrup
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. melted butter

Beat eggs. Add sugar and syrup, then salt and vanilla and last the melted fat. Place the pecans in the bottom of an unbaked pie crust. Add the filling and bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes. The nuts rise to the top of the filling and form a crusted layer.
