CHUNKY BROWNIES WITH A CRUST | |
1 1/4 c. unsifted flour 1/4 c. sugar 1/2 c. cold butter 1 (14 oz.) can Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated milk) 1/4 c. unsweetened cocoa 1 egg 1 tsp. vanilla extract 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1 (8 oz.) bar milk chocolate candy, broken into small chunks 3/4 c. chopped nuts Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In medium bowl, combine 1 cup flour and sugar. Cut in butter until crumbly. Press firmly on bottom of 13 x 9 inch baking pan. Bake 15 minutes. Meanwhile, in large mixer bowl, beat sweetened condensed milk, cocoa, egg, remaining 1/4 cup flour, vanilla and baking powder. Stir in milk chocolate chunks and nuts. Spread over prepared crust. Bake 20 minutes or until center is set. Cool. Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar if desired. Store tightly covered at room temperature. |
