STANDARD ROLLS 
2 c. scalded milk
3 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1 yeast cake, dissolved in 1/4 c. lukewarm water
5 1/2 c. flour

Add butter, sugar and salt to milk. When lukewarm, add dissolved yeast cake and 3 cups flour; beat thoroughly. Cover and let rise until light. Cut down; add enough flour to knead (2 1/2 cups). Let rise until double in bulk and turn onto slightly floured board. Knead, then shape into large balls. Put in greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Cover and let rise until double in bulk. Bake in hot oven 425 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.
