SOUR CREAM FILLED COOKIES 
2 c. light brown sugar
2 eggs
1 c. lard & butter mixed (I use Crisco or butter)
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 level tsp. baking soda
1 c. thick sour cream

Cream sugar and shortening. Add beaten eggs, cinnamon, salt, vanilla, then cream in which the soda has been dissolved, flour to make a soft dough. Roll 1/8 inch thick, cut and place 1 teaspoon filling in center of cookie and cover with a smaller cookie. I sprinkle with sugar nd top with a raisin. Bake in a 400 degree oven about 15 minutes.

FILLING:

1/2 c. raisins, chopped
1/2 c. dates, chopped
1 c. water
1/2 c. water
1 tbsp. flour (I use cornstarch)

Mix flour and water and add other ingredients, cook until thick. I add a little lemon juice.
