RED VELVET CAKE 
1/2 c. butter (real butter)
2 eggs
2 tsp. cocoa "heaping"
2 1/4 c. plain flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. white vinegar
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. red food coloring
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda

1. Cream butter and sugar together.

2. Make a paste of cocoa and food coloring.

3. Add eggs, butter and milk.

4. Add sugar and vinegar together (hold over bowl as it foams).

5. Bake 25-30 minutes in two 8 inch pans.

6. Bake at 350 degrees.

ICING:

8 oz. cream cheese
1 box powdered sugar
1 stick butter
1 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix all ingredients together and spread on cake.
