1/2 c. butter
1/3 c. sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. shortening
2 tsp. water
2 c. flour
powdered sugar

Cream sugar and butter-shortening. Mix in water and vanilla. Then flour and nuts. Roll dough into balls.

Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 15 minutes at 350°F. Let cool (do not brown cookie). Dip in powdered sugar.
