RYE - SWISS MELT | |
12 slices of light rye bread 6 slices of aged Swiss cheese 1/2 c. butter (1 stick) 6 dill pickle slices 1 lg. box potato chips Yields 6 sandwich plates. 1. Set the oven on broil, move rack to medium or top level. 2. Melt butter in microwave or on stove top. 3. Place 6 slices of bread on cookie sheet. 4. Place single or double layer of cheese on bread. 5. Place top 6 slices of bread on cheese. 6. With a barbeque or pastry brush, lightly paint tops and bottoms of sandwiches with melted butter. 7. Slide sheet of sandwiches under broiler until toasted - repeat on other side. One-three minutes - watch closely. 8. Serve on plate with one pickle slice and chips with something to drink. |
