3 tbsp. bacon drippings
1 box (9 oz.) yellow cake mix
3/4 c. buttermilk or sour milk
1/4 c. yellow cornmeal
1 beaten egg

Melt bacon fat in 9-inch square pan in 350 degree oven. Combine cake mix and corn meal. Combine egg, milk and cooled fat. Beat lightly and pour into cake mix. Mix well with fork.

Pour at once in hot 9-inch square pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
