2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
2 sticks butter
4 tbsp. cocoa
1 c. water
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. buttermilk

Sift flour, sugar and soda together. Set aside. Heat until almost boiling butter, cocoa and water. Add to first mixture. Add eggs, vanilla and buttermilk; beat well. Pour into greased pan and bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.

COOKED FUDGE ICING:

1 c. white sugar
1/4 c. cocoa
1/4 c. milk
Dash of salt
1/2 stick butter
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix all ingredients together except vanilla. Boil hard 1 minute and stir to prevent burning. Add vanilla and beat until cool enough to spread on warm cake.
