1 lb. lean hamburger meat 1 lb. Italian sausage 1 bell pepper, chopped 1 jar Classico dried tomato Alfredo sauce 1 can basil flavored tomato paste 1 lb. box large elbow macaroni, cooked to al-denté stage Large bag of shredded Mozzarella cheese Spray large sauté pan (I use a wok) with non-stick cooking spray. Sauté the hamburger and Italian sausage together along with the chopped bell pepper. Season with salt and pepper to taste. While the macaroni is cooking (al-denté), add the Classico sauce to the sautéed meat, then fill the Classico jar with water and add to the meat. Add the basil flavored tomato paste. Drain the pasta well and add to the meat mixture. Add about a third a bag of the cheese to mixture, then pour into a large baking pan (about 10x13). Spread cheese on top and cover with foil. Bake in 350°F oven for about 30 minutes to finish cooking the pasta. Uncover and place back in the oven to lightly brown the cheese. This is even better the next day! Submitted by: Katie Medeiros |
