BUTTERMILK BARS 
1/2 tsp. salt, optional
1 3/4 c. sugar
2 c. flour (sifted), set aside

1 stick butter
1/2 c. oil
4 tbsp. cocoa
1 c. water

Bring to a boil and pour over flour mixture.

2 slightly beaten eggs
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla

Add to above mixture and beat until smooth-use jelly roll pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.

FROSTING:

1 stick butter
1/3 c. buttermilk
3 tbsp. cocoa

Bring to a boil. Remove from heat. Add 3 1/4 cups powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Beat well with electric mixer and pour over cake (cake can be warm.) Can freeze.
