BASIC ROLL DOUGH 
8 c. sifted flour
1 c. milk
1 1/2 c. water
2 pkg. yeast
1/2 c. sugar
4 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1/4 c. shortening

Scald milk - cool.

Melt shortening - cool.

Combine milk, sugar and salt.

Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water.

Add yeast and remaining water to lukewarm milk.

Add half of flour.

Add beaten egg.

Measure shortening and add.

Add rest of flour and knead. Put in greased bowl. Cover and let rise double. Shape and let rise.
