HOMEMADE BREAD 
2 c. warm water
2 pkg. yeast
1 tsp. salt
Flour
2 tbsp. sugar
2 c. milk
1/2 c. shortening
1/4 c. sugar

Place 2 cups warm water and 2 tablespoons sugar with yeast. Set aside. Scale milk. Let cool. Add the water/yeast mixture, shortening, salt, and 1/4 cup sugar. Add flour as needed. Knead well. Let rise to double in size, work down and let rise again. Put in pans; let rise and bake at 400 degrees for 45 minutes. Makes 4-5 loaves.
