MODEN MANNA YEAST BREAD 
1/2 c. scalded milk
2 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. sugar
3 tbsp. shortening

Cool to lukewarm. 1 pkg. dry yeast

Combine these mixtures. Beat in 3 cups unsifted flour to develop gluten. Add 2 1/2 cups flour for soft dough. Lightly flour hands and board. Knead 8-10 minutes. Place in greased bowl, cover and let rise until double in bulk. Divide and shape into 2 loaves. Put into greased loaf pan. Let rise until double. Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes.
