CHOCOLATE COVERED SHORTBREAD BARS | |
1 aluminum pan - Fancifoil one pound container 1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour 1/3 c. sugar 1/3 c. butter 1/2 c. Nestle's little bits semi-sweet chocolate Preheat oven to 325 degrees. In large bowl combine flour and sugar. Using a pastry blender or 2 knives, cut in butter to form crumbs. Stir in 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate. Press into pan. Bake 20 minutes. Remove from oven and prepare topping immediately. TOPPING: 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate pieces 1 tbsp. finely chopped toasted almonds Sprinkle chocolate pieces on top. Let stand 10 minutes until chocolate pieces are soft and shiny. Spread evenly on top. Sprinkle on the almonds. Cut into bars. Makes 1 1/2 dozen bars. Can use more almonds if you like. |
