OLD-TIME BUTTERMILK PIE 
1 (9 inch) pie shell, unbaked
1/2 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar (scant)
3 tbsp. flour
3 eggs, beaten
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. nutmeg to sprinkle on top of pie before baking

Cream soft butter with sugar, add eggs and flour, beat well. Stir in buttermilk and vanilla. Pour into unbaked pie shell and bake 40-50 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool before serving.
