APPLE WALNUT CAKE | |
1 (20 oz.) can Thank You apple pie filling 2 c. flour 1 c. sugar 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 2 eggs, beaten 1 tsp. vanilla 2/3 c. vegetable oil 3/4 c. chopped walnuts TOPPING: 1 c. sugar 1/2 c. sour cream 1/2 tsp. baking soda Combine flour, sugar, soda, salt, set aside. In bowl, mix eggs, vanilla, oil and 1/2 cup nuts, mix well. Add dry ingredients, then fold in pie mix. Smooth batter evenly in 9x13 inch pan and bake for 40-45 minutes at 350 degrees until cake springs back. Cool on rack about 20 minutes, then prick with fork. TOPPING: Combine sugar, sour cream and soda in saucepan over medium heat until boiling. Pour over cake and sprinkle with remaining nuts. Serves 12-15. |
