BOSTON BROWN BREAD | |
1 box raisins 2 tbsp. butter 2 tsp. baking soda 2 c. boiling water 2 c. sugar 4 c. sifted flour 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. vanilla 2 well beaten eggs 1/2 c. walnuts Let raisins, butter, soda, and water stand about 3 hours, then add remaining ingredients. Mix well and bake in 6 (#2) cans. Grease and lightly flour cans. Put wax paper in the bottom of cans. Bake in oven at about 350 degrees for 1 hour. |
