1 1/2 lb. hamburger meat 2 cans kidney beans 2 c. water 1 pkg. chili sauce 1 (29 oz.) can tomato sauce 1/2 medium onion, finely chopped (optional) 5 medium potatoes, diced into 1/2-inch cubes salt pepper Brown hamburger meat in skillet. Boil potatoes until done (not mashed). In large saucepan, mix meat, kidney beans, water, chili sauce, tomato sauce, dash of salt and pepper, potatoes and onion (if desired). Cook on medium heat until chili has thickened. Serve hot, topped with shredded cheese and oyster crackers. |
