CARROT ORANGE COOKIES 
3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. cooked mashed carrot
1 tsp. vanilla or orange flavor
1 c. chopped nuts

Cream shortening and sugar, add egg, mix. Add all ingredients except nuts, mix them in last. Drop by teaspoon on baking sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. Ice while hot.

ICING (dip tops only) :

1 grated orange rind
1 c. powdered sugar
3 tbsp. orange juice
