MY CORN BREAD 
1 c. corn meal
1 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs (beaten & enough milk to make thin as cake batter)
2-3 tbsp. melted shortening or bacon drippings (heated & pour into above mixture, stir)

Heat 2 tablespoons shortening in heavy skillet. Pour corn bread in skillet when hot enough to sizzle. Bake in 450 degree oven until brown on top.
