PEANUT BUTTER BARS | |
1 c. crunchy peanut butter 2/3 c. softened butter 1 tsp. vanilla 2 c. packed light brown sugar 3 eggs 1 c. sifted flour 1/2 tsp. salt 3/4 c. sifted 10X sugar 2 tsp. water 1/4 c. semi-sweet chocolate pieces 1 tsp. vegetable shortening Combine peanut butter, butter and vanilla. Beat until well blended. Beat in brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Stir in flour and salt just until well blended. Spread in 9"x13"x2" pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. Remove pan from oven to wire rack. Cool slightly. Combine 10X sugar with water in small bowl. Stir until smooth. Drizzle from a spoon over still warm cookies in pan. Swirl with bowl of spoon in random patterns. Melt chocolate with shortening in a small heavy saucepan over low heat. Drizzle over white glaze. When cooled, cut into 36 bars. |
