MALLO NUT FUDGE CAKE 
3 oz. chocolate, cut very fine
3/4 c. boiling water
1 3/4 c. sifted flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. Crisco
1/3 c. thick sour milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs, unbeaten
18 marshmallows, cut in half
1/2 c. nuts, cut

Put chocolate in mixing bowl. Pour boiling water over chocolate and stir until melted. Cool. Sift flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and soda into chocolate mixture. Drop in Crisco. Beat 200 strokes or 2 minutes with mixer on low speed. Add sour milk, vanilla, eggs and beat 200 strokes or on low for 2 minutes.

Bake in two 8 x 8 x 2 inch square Crisco coated pans on 350 degrees, 30-40 minutes. While cake is warm press marshmallows on 1 layer, turn bottom side up. Spread 1 minute.

FUDGE FROSTING:

2 oz. chocolate, finely cut
1 1/2 c. sugar
7 tbsp. milk
2 tbsp. Crisco
2 tbsp. butter
1 tbsp. corn syrup
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Bring to a boil slowly, stirring constantly. Boil 1 minute, then add vanilla. Beat until thick enough to spread. Add 1/2 cup to frosting just before spreading. Add 1/2 cup nuts. Add a cut marshmallow to each corner for garnish.
