YELLOW PICKLED SQUASH | |
4 qt. yellow squash, sliced 5 med. onions, sliced 2 green peppers, chopped 1/4 c. salt 5 c. sugar 1 1/2 tsp. turmeric 1 1/4 tsp. celery seed 2 tbsp. mustard seed 3 c. vinegar Do not peel squash. Wash and slice squash, add onions and peppers. Cover with crushed ice and mix. After ice is melted, drain thoroughly and combine remaining ingredients and pour over squash; mix. Heat just to boiling point. Pour in hot jars and seal. |
