MINI CHIP TOFFEE BARS 
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. white sugar
1 c. shortening (1/2 butter, 1/2 butter)
1 egg yolk
2 c. flour
1 (12 oz.) pkg. mini chocolate chips
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg yolk. Add flour and vanilla and half of mini chips. Spread evenly on greased 10 x 15 inch cookie sheet that has sides. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Remove from oven; turn off heat and sprinkle remaining chips on top. Return bars to oven for about 1 minute. Remove from oven and spread chocolate with knife. Add nuts if desired. Cut while warm.
