HANOVER'S BRISKET 
4 or 5 lb. brisket
1 can consomme
1 (5 oz.) bottle soy sauce
1/4 c. lemon juice
Garlic to taste
1 tbsp. liquid smoke

Combine ingredients, pour over meat and marinate overnight. Bake in liquid for 4 hours for 4 pounds or 5 hours for 5 pounds at 275 to 300 degrees. Baste occasionally during baking. Cover last hour of total time and then remove cover and pour 1/2 cup barbecue sauce over brisket and increase oven temperature to 350 degrees.
