PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES 
1/2 c. shortening (soft) or butter
1/2 c. peanut butter
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1 egg
1 1/4 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt

Mix shortening, peanut butter, both sugars and egg thoroughly. Add rest of ingredients. Mix well. If you chill dough for 20 minutes to 1/2 hour it is easier to work with. Heat oven to 375 degrees.

Roll dough into little ball, size of large walnut. Place 3 inches apart on lightly greased baking sheet. Flatten with fork dipped in flour Crisco cross as you flatten cookies. Bake 10 to 12 minutes.
