GRAMA WOOD'S BLUEBERRY CAKE WITH
LEMON SAUCE
 
1 c. flour
1 tbsp. shortening
3/4 c. sugar
Salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. blueberries
1/2 c. milk (approximately)

LEMON SAUCE:

1 c. water
1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1 tbsp. butter
Juice of 1 lemon (add this to water to equal 1 c.)

Cake: Cream sugar and shortening. Add flour, sifted with salt and baking powder. Add blueberries, then milk. Pour into greased 8 x 8 inch pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.

Lemon Sauce: Combine all ingredients in small saucepan. Cook until thickened. Serve warm over piece of blueberry cake.
