BAY COUNTRY CRAB SOUP | |
1 lb. beef shin, bone in 3 qts. water 1 lg. onion, chopped 2 stalks celery, chopped 1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes 1 tbsp. salt 1/4 tsp. black pepper 1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen mixed vegetables 1 pkg. frozen mixed soup vegetables 1 lb. reg. crabmeat 1/2 lb. claw crabmeat (optional) 1/2 doz. whole crabs in half Put first 8 ingredients in a large pan and simmer covered, until meat is very tender, about 3 hours. Add rest of ingredients and simmer, covered, until vegetables are done. Makes about 5 quarts. |
