FIG PINWHEEL COOKIES | |
1 pt. fig preserves, drained 1 c. nuts 1/2 c. butter 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed 1 egg 1 tsp. vanilla 2 c. all-purpose flour 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt Grind the preserves and nuts together. Set aside. Cream butter, brown and white sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Sift together flour, salt and soda. Add to mixture. Chill dough. Divide for easy handling. (I divide before chilling.) Roll dough very thin. Spread with preserves and nuts. Roll as jelly roll. Chill. Slice and bake 10 to 12 minutes at 325 degrees. Makes about 5 dozen. |
