1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. shortening
3/4 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. white sugar
2 c. oatmeal
2 eggs, beaten
1 tbsp. hot water
1 c. nuts
2 pkgs. chocolate chips
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and water. Sift dry ingredients together and add to creamed mixture. Add chips, nuts and oatmeal. Add vanilla. Place on cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.
