SCOTCH SHORTBREAD COOKIES 
1 c. butter (or 1/2 c. butter, 1/2 c. margarine)
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 1/4 c. flour

Cream butter and sugar. Add flour and mix well until ball can be formed leaving bowl clean. Roll or pat onto floured board 1/4 - 1/2 inch thick. Cut into oblong squares and score with knife in 3 slashes.

Bake at 350°F 12 minutes.

Makes about 48-50.
