RASPBERRY TEA RING 
2 c. sifted flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
4 tbsp. cold shortening
3/4 c. milk
1/2 raspberry jam
Melted butter

GLAZE:

1 c. confectioners' sugar
2 tbsp. milk
2 tbsp. raspberry jam

Sift first 3 ingredients together and cut in shortening. Add milk to make soft dough. Knead lightly. Roll dough into oblong sheet 1/8 inch thick. Spread evenly with raspberry jam. Roll as for jelly roll, bring ends together to form ring and place on a greased baking sheet.

With scissors cut 1 inch slices, almost through the ring, turning each slice cut side up and pointing outer edge. Brush with melted butter. Bake in hot oven (400 degrees) for 30 minutes. To make glaze combine sugar, milk and jam. When ring is baked, remove from pan and while hot spread on glaze. Serve warm.
