COLD WATER BISCUITS
SPONGE:

1 or 2 c. lukewarm water
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. dry yeast
1 1/2 c. flour

DOUGH:

2 c. sponge
2 c. cold water
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. melted butter
Flour, enough to make soft dough

Make sponge (late afternoon). Let rise 1 to 3 hours. Then make dough, knead well. Let rise at bedtime, make balls about size a large acorn and place in greased pans. (Leave plenty of room for rising.) Let rise at room temperature overnight.

Bake in morning at about 350 degrees. This is an old recipe. Time and temperature are variable.
