PLUM TORTE | |
1 c. sugar 1/2 c. sweet butter 1 c. unbleached flour, sifted 1 tsp. baking powder Pinch salt 2 eggs 24 halves pitted purple plums TOPPING: Sugar Cinnamo n Lemon juice Cream sugar and butter. Add flour, baking powder, salt and eggs and beat well. Spoon butter into 9" spring form pan. Place plum halves, skin side up on top of butter. Sprinkle lightly with sugar and lemon juice, depending on sweetness of fruit. Sprinkle with 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Remove and cool. Refrigerate or freeze if desired. Serve warm with ice cream or whip cream. |
