LAZY DAY BEEF CASSEROLE 
2 lbs. stewing beef, cut into 2 inch cubes
1/2 c. water or red wine
1 can undiluted condensed consomme
1 med. onion, sliced
1 can undiluted chicken broth
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. fine dry bread crumbs
1/2 c. sifted flour

Combine all ingredients, except bread crumbs and flour. Top with bread crumbs and flour. Stir in. Bake at 300 degrees about 3 hours. Serve over rice or noodles or add stew vegetables 1 hour before serving. Start oven temperature at 400 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes and reduce to 300 degrees.
