SCONES 
1 3/4 c. flour
3 tbsp. sugar
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. raisins or currants
4-6 tbsp. half and half
1 egg, slightly beaten

Heat oven to 400 degrees. In medium bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder; cut butter into flour mixture until it resembles crumbs. Stir in currants or raisins, 1 egg and just enough half and half so dough leaves side of bowl. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface. Knead lightly 10 times. Roll into 9 inch circle cut into wedges. Place on cookie sheet. Brush with beaten egg. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
