PANNED CABBAGE DE LUXE 
1 lg. onion, sliced
2 c. cabbage, shredded
1 tsp. salt
1 c. boiling water
1 tbsp. fat
1 c. carrots, grated
1/8 tsp. pepper

Saute onion in hot fat in heavy skillet until soft and clear. Add cabbage, carrots and seasonings. Pour water over vegetables. Cover, and simmer 12 minutes. Serve hot. Makes 6 servings.
