CRANBERRY COOKIES 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1 tsp. vanilla
1/3 c. milk
1 egg
3 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 c. mixed candied fruit, diced
1 tbsp. grated orange peel
2 1/2 c. fresh cranberries, coarsely chopped

Cream butter, sugars and vanilla together. Beat in milk and egg. Sift and mix flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Stir into creamed mixture and blend well. Add candied fruit, orange peel and cranberries.

For each cookie, mound 2 level tablespoons on well greased cookie sheets. Space mounds about 2 inches apart. Bake at 375 degrees for 15-18 minutes. Yields 3 1/2 dozen 3 inch cookies.

These cookies are very good and easy to make. I left out the grated orange peel and candied fruit as we don't like those ingredients in a cookie. The fresh cranberries are great by themselves and pecans, of course! Will definitely makes these again.
